Established in 1938, Goodwill Trading Co., Inc (Goodwill Bookstore) is the best choice for hard-to-find books, textbooks and reference books, especially in the field of medical literature. A 100% Filipino owned company, Goodwill Bookstore has branches in Metro Manila and in the provinces, all engaged in the retail and wholesale of books from major publishers here and abroad.

Responsive to the changing needs of young Filipino readers, Goodwill Bookstore opened its first Bridges Bookstore in 2006 at the V-Mall in Greenhills, San Juan. As the new, more vibrant face of Goodwill, Bridges Bookstore caters to a wide range of clients – from young pre-schoolers and precious “tweens” to active teens and dynamic young adults as well as to the more mature, yet hip crowd of all timers – all those who share the passion for reading, living and sharing life’s pleasures.

Goodwill Bookstore is also involved in the publishing and distribution of local and foreign-authorized titles through its sister companies, EDCA Publishing and Distributing Corporation (EDCA) and KATHA Publishing Company. Goodwill Bookstore has penetrated the international market by exporting locally-authorized books and trade reference materials. With the global market in mind, Goodwill Bookstore, with KATHA, has actively participated in various books fairs in the Asian region.

Bridges Bookstore is more than just a bookstore. It has a modern educational center, Sacred Heart School, in its Ayala Center – Makati branch and a day-care center, Star Kids International Day Care, in its V-Mall, Greenhills branch. Providing more than usual day-care services, Sacred Heart School – Bridges Bookstore, Ayala Center offers full pre-school classes, tutorial services, tae-kwando lessons, atrs and crafts workshops and other learning activities, particularly the Galileo after-school enrichment program. Sacred Heart School also has a studio where children’s ballet, jazz for kids, line dancing and flamenco classes for adults as offered.

Almost 70 years have passed since the company’s late patriarch, Manual Y. Cancio, put up his first bookstore with his wife, Juana Tan-Cancio. Today, Goodwill Bookstore looks forward to continue providing efficient services to its customers and to nurture Filipino minds with the best of books.
